Enjoy local Gambian meals

Currently our restaurant is under construction. Before, our restaurant was located at the second floor of one of our buildings on the roadside. Because of elderly- and handicapped people we currently are building a new restaurant in a new building and the restaurant will be located on the first floor.

At this moment we are seeking for an entrepreneur who wants to start a restaurant. This because we will not facilitate the restaurant ourselves for the long term. If you are interested in opening a restaurant in the Tanje area, near the sea, in an upcoming tourism area and an area where currently many houses are being, and going to be, built please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. When you come to visit Tanje Village Museum and you will stay in one of our accommodations, we offer a restaurant facility where local meals will be cooked. We can’t prepare typical European meals like e.g. steak or rib-eye but we will do our very best to make your visit to the restaurant as pleasant as possible by serving traditional Gambian meals. For example we can serve traditional meals like “Benechin”, “Domoda”, “Supper Kanja” or “Yasa”.

These are all spicy meals served with rice, meat or fish and- or vegetables. “Yasa” excluded, this is a meal consisting of meat and/or fish.
