My name is Abdoulie Bayo and I am the founder and owner of Tanje Village Museum. On this page I will shortly inform you on the kind of investors we are looking for. If you have any questions about investing, please don’t hesitate to contact me.The Tanje Village Museum is the first private museum in The Gambia and its aiming to preserve the culture. It is also a self financed museum, from top to bottom. We are undergoing constant changes to keep up with our competition. New facilities are being built and more and more attention is being paid to the appearance of the property.
In order to sustain we are depending on tourism and local visitors who visit the museum and its facilities. While tourists are visiting us on a medium regular basis we also try to get schools here. Only the main problem for schools in The Gambia is that they don’t have much money. Especially not for outdoor (educational) excursions. In the past we made it more possible for schools to come here because we picked them up and delivered them back after the excursion.
If you are seeking for a project or company to invest in, especially a company focusing on cultural-, historical and educational purposes with just a small commercial vision, Tanje Village Museum might be a project you want to invest in. Note that I said a small commercial vision. We are trying to be self sustaining and the turnover we realize gets invested into the museum and its facilities.
Investing in education?
While many schools in The Gambia are sponsored by, mainly, western individuals we are asking for your attention. Have you considered, or are you considering, to sponsor a school or maybe even multiple schools?
Another way to sponsor schools is by giving them an opportunity to make an outdoor educational excursion to the Tanje Village Museum. Here the children will learn about the rich Gambian history, wildlife, culture, traditions and the environment as well.
Investing in a growing business?
Not only we offer tourists an excursion possibility but we also provide accommodations. At this moment apartments are being built, as well as a restaurant and offices. We do this to extend our range of facilities to try to increase our turnover so the Tanje Village Museum can sustain.
Currently the Gambian government is sponsoring houses in the area where we are located. As a matter of fact, the sponsoring area is right in front of the museum, from the road towards the sea. This of course is leading to a larger populated area which is more attractive to tourists.
As mentioned before, the museum has no obligations to a bank or whatsoever, everything is self financed. In order to finish our buildingprojects and open them to public we are seeking for investors who want to help us extend our business.
